  • Romania and Austria to cooperate in the field of electronic administration

    Romania and Austria plan to cooperate more tightly in the field of efficient electronic administration, starting off in this respect the procedures for the signing of an agreement of cooperation at governmental level, the Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI) reports.

    Following the visit paid by president Traian Basescu to Austria on March 23, a governmental delegation headed by Minister of Communications and Information Society, Gabriel Sandu, went on Thursday to Vienna for the initiation of the steps for the materialization of the agreements reached at presidential level. Gabriel Sandu and Austrian State secretary Josef Ostermayer started the process of the urgent signing of a Cooperation Agreement at governmental level.

    Russland und die USA haben sich prinzipiell darauf geeinigt, ab diesem Jahr Daten von Flugpassagieren auszutauschen. Das gab der russische Verkehrsminister Igor Lewitin am Samstag in einem Interview mit dem Fernsehsender Westi-24 bekannt.

    Nach bisherigem russischen Recht sind die Daten von Flugpassagieren vertraulich. Um das zu ändern, werde im Laufe des Jänners ein entsprechender Gesetzesentwurf ins Parlament eingebracht, kündigte Lewitin an.

  • Saarland: Innenminister Klaus Meiser: 60.000 Euro für Modellprojekt "Interkommunale Kooperation"

    Die Gemeinden Illingen, Schiffweiler, Merchweiler und Tholey unterzeichneten gestern im Rathaus Schiffweiler die gemeinsame Vereinbarung zum Modellprojekt „Interkommunale Kooperation“. Für dieses Projekt erhielten die Gemeinden vom Land finanzielle Förderung in Höhe von 60.000 Euro.

    „Die Landesregierung möchte Kooperationen der Gemeinden unterstützen, neue Formen der Zusammenarbeit anregen und die Gemeinden beraten.“, sagte der Minister in seiner Ansprache. Dabei sei es auch wichtig, nach konkreten Möglichkeiten der Umsetzung zu suchen und diese zu begleiten

  • Schleswig-Holstein: Lauenburgischer Kreistag votiert für "Kooperation statt Kreisfusion"

    Der Lauenburgische Kreistag hat sich gegen eine von oben aufgezwungene Gebietsreform und gegen Großkreise ausgesprochen. Zugleich brachten die vier Fraktionen eine Verwaltungskooperation mit Stormarn und Segeberg auf den Weg.

    Ziel ist eine möglichst weitgehende Zusammenarbeit, um die drei Kreisverwaltungen noch leistungsfähiger zu machen, ohne die Bürgernähe zu opfern. Um das zu erreichen, hat der Kreistag einen Antrag der CDU zur Kooperation mit Stormarn und Segeberg ohne Gegenstimmen angenommen. FDP und Grüne votierten mit der Union, die SPD-Fraktion enthielt sich.

    Schleswig-Holsteins Innenminister Ralf Stegner hat sich am Donnerstag für eine engere Zusammenarbeit mit Hamburg ausgesprochen. "Die Gartenzäune müssen abgerissen werden", sagte er. Stegner forderte Hamburg auf, dass Konzept der "Wachsenden Stadt" in eine Politik der "Wachsenden Metropolregion Hamburg" zu ändern.

  • SG: IDA International to collaborate with Mongolia on eGovt projects

    The Government of Mongolia and Singapore strengthened their collaborative relationship on Tuesday with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between IDA International and the Information, Communications Technology and Post Authority of the Government of Mongolia (ICTPA).

    The MOU defines the framework within which both organisations can explore opportunities to collaborate on Infocomm Technology (ICT) activities and projects related to eGovernment, said the IDA International in a statement on Tuesday.

  • Singapore and China forge public sector training alliance

    China and Singapore have struck a deal that will see the two governments share their experiences in public administration and training. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed by China’s State Administration of Foreign Experts (SAFEA) and the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) at the end of last year, will also see the two agencies hold training programmes for other countries looking to learn from how China and Singapore have modernised public services.

    The partnership will focus on training government officials in disciplines such as urban planning, e-government, human resources and transportation.

  • Singapore and South Korea Collaborate on E-Government

    To promote cooperation in the field of infocomm technology between the Republic of Singapore and the Republic of Korea, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today on e-Government cooperation. The MOU seeks to increase opportunities for e-Government collaboration between Singapore and South Korea.

    Elevating bilateral relations between the two countries up a step, the MOU was sealed today by Mr Kim Seang-Tae, President, National Information Society Agency, Republic of Korea and RADM(NS) Ronnie Tay, Chief Executive Officer, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore.

  • Singapore and Vietnam forge deeper economic ties

    Singapore and Vietnam agreed to forge deeper economic ties through the Singapore-Vietnam Connectivity Framework Agreement amidst the global economic downturn. This was reiterated when Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang met with Vietnam’s Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc today in Singapore, at the 4th Connectivity Ministerial Meeting to review the Connectivity Agreement.

  • Singapore forges new e-gov deal with Oman

    Singapore’s Infocomm Development Authority has struck a new deal with the Information Technology Authority of Oman (ITA) to further develop the Sultanate’s e-government infrastructure.

    The city-state has been working with the government of Oman since 2007, a relationship which has seen Singaporean companies help build Oman’s IT capability in the education, healthcare, tourism and finance sectors.

  • Singapore seeks new wave of innovative collaboration

    The government has pledged to make more data public to encourage the creation of innovative services for citizens and businesses.

    This initiative comes under one of three strategic thrusts, the co-creation of higher value services, of the country's new e-government masterplan which will run from 2011 to 2015.

    Announcing the new e-government masterplan at the iGov Global Forum here Monday, Peter Ho, head of civil service and permanent secretary at Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said it will mark a mindset shift from "government-to-you" to "government-with-you".

  • Singapore, Mongolia to work on ICT projects

    Singapore and Mongolia have strengthened their relationship, with an agreement to work on Infocomm Technology (ICT) activities and projects to help transform Mongolia into a knowledge-based society.

    They'll collaborate in public service infocomm and eGovernment over the next three years.

    These include ICT projects, such as enterprise architecture, cloud computing and project management.

  • Singapore, UAE sign agreement on ICT collaboration

    The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Telecommunications and Regulatory Authority of the UAE (TRA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will see greater collaboration in the field of telecommunications and ICT in the public and private sectors.

    According to an official statement from IDA Singapore, the MOU will further promote knowledge sharing of ICT in government and economic sectors for trade, investment, business and technology ventures between UAE and Singapore’s industries. In particular, the coordination of Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network is one key area of ICT adoption between IDA Singapore and TRA.

  • South Africa: Boost for provincial e-govt

    The Finnish government has signed a deal with SA that will see it donate 12 million euros (R136 million) to SA in ICT development aid over a three-year period.

    The deal, signed by SA's communications minister Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri and Finland's minister counsellor Marjaana Sall, in Pretoria yesterday, is in support of the SA Provincial Information Society Strategy programme.

    The initiative aims to accelerate social and economic development through ICT, says the Department of Communications.

  • South Korea and Singapore sign e-government pact

    Two of Asia’s biggest exporters of e-government systems, South Korea and Singapore, have struck a deal to share ideas and lessons learned on e-government service delivery and strategy. The memorandum of understanding (MOU), signed yesterday (June 16th 2010), will see the two countries collaborate on e-government projects and support each other through workshops and events.

    “South Korea and Singapore both share a common goal of delivering ever better services to citizens and businesses in its own country,” said RADM(NS) Ronnie Tay, Chief Executive Officer, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. “We hope that such a collaboration will allow both countries to tap on each other’s expertise and experiences to propel e-Government service developments to an even higher level.”

  • South Korea exports e-government model to Japan

    One hundred years after South Korea adopted Japan’s administrative system under colonial rule, Korea has struck an historic deal to sell its e-government model to Japan. In an interview with FutureGov, a leading Korean academic in public administration said the deal marked a shift for Korea “from playing catch-up to leading the way” for e-government in East Asia.

    Korean IT companies have sold e-government systems to local governments in Japan since 2004. But this is the first such deal between the two countries’ central governments. Japan has experiences difficulties setting up and managing e-government systems; investments made by central and local governments have often overlapped. Korea has had similar problems in the past, and has gone a long way to solving them.
