  • Hamburg und Hessen bündeln Know-how im E-Government - Kooperationsabkommen unterzeichnet

    Das Land Hessen und die freie Hansestadt Hamburg haben ein Kooperationsabkommen im Bereich E-Government unterzeichnet. Beide Bundesländer nehmen in Deutschland eine führende Rolle in der Entwicklung und Bereitstellung moderner E-Government-Angebote ein. Im Rahmen der deutschlandweiten Initiative „Deutschland Online“ haben beide Länder jeweils die Leitung für bedeutsame Einzelprojekte übernommen - Hamburg für die Reform des Kfz-Wesens und Hessen für die Errichtung eines einheitlichen Behördennetzes. Auch bei einem weiteren überregional großen Projekt zeigen Hamburg und Hessen Flagge: So bewerben sich Hamburg und Hessen mit Modellregionen zur Einführung der bundeseinheitlichen Behörden-Rufnummer „115“ und wollen so wichtige Anregungen und Erfahrungen aus der Praxis liefern.

    Interkommunale Zusammenarbeit: Bürgermeister von Raunheim, Nauheim und Büttelborn unterzeichnen Vertrag

    Was in den Kommunalparlamenten bereits beschlossene Sache war, wurde gestern Vormittag im Büttelborner Rathaus auch per Unterschrift besiegelt: Bürgermeister Horst Gölzenleuchter (SPD) und seine Amtskollegen Thomas Jühe (Raunheim, SPD) und Ingo Waltz (Nauheim, SPD) unterzeichneten den Vertrag über die interkommunale Zusammenarbeit.

  • ictQATAR and the Ministry of Interior kick off online Exit permits service

    As part of the ongoing effort to enhance the delivery of governmental services, ictQATAR and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced today that government agencies and private companies in Qatar can now issue Exit Permits electronically within seconds, for their employees through the e- Government website www.e.gov.qa. This e-service is part of the joint and ongoing collaboration between the two agencies.

    Hassan Al-Sayed, Acting e-Government Manager at ictQATAR said that this significant service is an addition to the set of services currently offered online including residency permits, entry visas, health cards and others.

  • ID: Indonesia, Singapore sign MoU on electronic governance

    Indonesia and Singapore have agreed to establish cooperation in the field of electronic governance, which is the implementation of government activities using technology.

    The agreement was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Indonesias Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi and Singapores Communications and Information Minister Yacoob Ibrahim.

  • IDA-ITA co-operation will lead Oman to new heights in IT sector

    The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) Singapore is active in Oman and providing the best possible Information Technology solutions to government establishments. In an interview with the Observer, Shaik Umar (pictured), Centre Director of Middle East Office of the IDA said the National Computer Systems (NCS) has extended co-operation to the Information Technology Authority (ITA) to develop the eOman Portal, a service delivery portal that connects the citizens and government of Oman.

    Other major areas of cooperation between Oman and IDA are done through e-Cop and Oman's eGovernment Architecture Framework (OeGAF) with the ITA. With OeGAF, the Sultanate's Government entities seek to seamlessly integrate their IT Infrastructure and collaborate to deliver better citizen services. The e-Cop is establishing a national Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) for the Government. The ST LogiTrack had implemented their innovative Radio frequency Identification (RFID) Solution, ELiMS to the Sultan Qaboos University's main library.

  • IN: Delhi, Seoul approve ‘friendship agreement’

    In the first step towards becoming ‘friends’, the governments of Delhi and Seoul approved the draft of a “friendship city agreement” on Wednesday, as per a statement from the Delhi government.

    A delegation of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, led by Mayor Park Won-Soon, met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. As per the draft agreement, the two cities will cooperate and carry out exchanges in the fields of Smart City, e-governance, transportation, culture, tourism, climate change and environment.

  • IN: Karnataka: Bangladeshi team studies e-governance work

    A high-level delegation from Bangladesh visited Bangalore and interacted with key officials in the administrative and e-governance departments. They were here to study the implementation of various e-governance interventions, particularly Sakaala, the government scheme that is part of the Karnataka Guarantee of Services of Citizens Act, 2011.

    Led by Mohammed Yunus, Additional Secretary and National Director (planning) in the Bangladesh government, the team sat through a series of presentations on government schemes, including Mahiti, Nemmadi, Bhoomi and Sarige. Their focus was on learning how technology can aid delivery of services to citizens.

  • IN: Kerala: Swedish city of Kumla to Give Kochi City a Push

    Swedish city of Kumla has decided to work together with Kochi city to focus on improving opportunities for both cities in fields such as education, drinking water, waste management, IT and e-governance, according to a press release sent out by the Kochi Mayor’s office on Friday.

    An agreement over this has been reached during the ongoing Sweden visit of the Kochi Corporation delegation, which includes Mayor Tony Chammany, opposition leader K J Jacob and education standing committee chairman R Thyagarajan who met Kumla Mayor Katarina Hansson and opposition leader Mats Hellgreen.

  • India Extends Brunei An IT Hand

    India has offered Brunei its "technical capabilities" to help the Sultanate develop its ICT (information and communication technology) sector, following the first Brunei-India Joint Working Group Meeting on ICT, which took place yesterday at the Ministry of Communications in Berakas.

    A three-member delegation from India led by Rakesh Singh, the additional secretary of India's Department of Information Technology, was in Brunei for the meeting.

    India has proposed a collaboration with the US for cyber security, especially in confronting the dangers posed by cyber terrorism.

    The issue came up during the discussions Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot held here with officials of the Obama administration over the past two days.

  • India signs DTAA with Estonia, to team up on ICT, education

    India has signed a double taxation avoidance agreement (DTAA) with Estonia and has also forged a pact to work with the European nation in the fields of information, communications and technology (ICT).

    Communications and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal signed the pact during his visit to Estonia on September 19, during which he also met Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, an official statement said.

  • India, Brunei ICT Tie-Up Picks Up Momentum

    The ICT cooperation between India and Brunei Darussalam has moved into high gear with the return from India of a 19-member Bruneian delegation comprising different stakeholders, after studying the subcontinents e-government measures and how they can help Brunei's vision of an e-government.

    Speaking to The Brunei Times at a dinner hosted by Indian High Commissioner Riewad Warjri last night, Minister of Communications Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerma Data Seri Setia Hj Abu Bakar Hj Apong said the progress in the ICT sector between the two countries was the outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's visit to India in 2008.

  • India, Japan to collaborate in ICT

    India and Japan have decided to set up a working group to identify specific areas in information and communication technology (ICT) where they can collaborate - in areas such as cyber security.

    Masahiro Yoshizaki, vice minister for policy coordination, ministry of internal affairs and communications, Japan, and Anil Kaushal, member of Telecom Commission of India, signed a joint statement Thursday, which said the thrust area would be development of technology and standards.

  • India, Malaysia sign MoU to boost co-operation

    India and Malaysia today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen co-operation in public administration and governance as part of the efforts to enhance their strategic partnership.

    The MoU covers eight areas of co-operation including human resource management, e-governance, public delivery system, accountability and transparency, skills and capacity building and quality results.

  • India, Switzerland to cooperate in local governance

    India and Switzerland signed an agreement on Monday to increase their cooperation for strengthening local governance.

    The agreement aims at "establishing projects to encourage transference of competence between India and Switzerland for strengthening local self-governance, focusing on areas relating to e-governance, local governments' performance appraisal, public service delivery through local bodies, solution-sharing and mobilisation of resources," according to a statement issued by the embassy of Switzerland in India.

    According to a nationwide study, the future of e-governance in India lies in building partnerships between the various factions, i.e. government and private sector, centre and states; etc.

    The study was carried out by strategy and management consulting firm - Skoch Consultancy and was conducted to mark 5 years since the National e-Governance Plan was first formulated and two years after it was given effect

  • India: Orissa government signs MoU with British Council to implement Connecting Classrooms Programme

    Orissa government has signed an MoU with the British Council for implementation of a programme in state-run schools of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar twin city to enable students interact with their counterparts in the UK.

    The MoU was signed by the Principal Secretary of School and Mass Education Department Bandana Jena on behalf of Orissa government and Director of British Council, East India Sujata Sen on behalf of British Council here on Wednesday at the Mayfair Lagoon, Bhubaneswar. The schools having computer and internet facilities will be covered under the programme. About 60,000 primary and elementary schools in the state, only 1500 have been provided with computers. At least 21 schools located in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack would be covered under the first phase of programme.

  • Indonesia and South Korea Agree to Develop e-Government

    Indonesia and South Korea have agreed to develop e-government on a mutually beneficial and non-interference basis.

    Indonesian Communication and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring and South Korean Security and Public Administration Minister Yoo Jeong Bok signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on e-government cooperation in the presence of Vice President Boediono here earlier this month, the Chief of the Information Center and Public Relations Service at the Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Information, Gatot S. Dewa Broto said.

  • Indonesia’s KOMINFO DG on e-government cooperation

    Taking forward its vision of a more innovative, accountable and transparent government, Indonesia has embarked on developing e-government cooperation with South Korea.

    Dr. Ashwin Sasongko, Director-General of ICT Application at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (KOMINFO) explains, “Minister of Bureaucratic Reform, Azwar Abubakar, on his visit to Korea three months ago, observed the central importance of e-governance for bureaucratic reform. After discussing with the Minister for ICT, Tifatul Sembiring, they agreed to develop cooperation with Korea on e-governance”.

    E-Government auf kommunaler Ebene sicherstellen

    Eine wesentliche Säule von E-Government ist die Möglichkeit für die BürgerInnen, online Formulare auszufüllen und abzuschicken und damit Zeit und Nerven zu sparen. Eine Reihe von Formularen, die für den Kontakt mit den Behörden notwendig sind, wird zentral vom elektronischen Amtshelfer des Bundes - "HELP.gv.at" - angeboten. Mit einer ab 17.11.2008 wirksamen Konsolidierung des Formularangebots von HELP.gv.at erfolgt gleichzeitig eine Reduktion der Formulare auf ein "Basispaket", welches sich überwiegend auf Verfahren aus dem übertragenen Wirkungskreis des Bundes, die bundesweit einheitlich geregelt sind, konzentriert. Alle weiteren Formulare werden eingestellt und von HELP.gv.at nicht mehr angeboten.
