    Transparentes Genehmigungsverfahren im Umweltbereich

    Mit ihrem neuen Online-Genehmigungsverfahren im Umweltbereich, das via Internet den Beteiligten immer den aktuellen Verfahrensstand vermittelt, hat die Stadt Köln den 1. Preis bei einem E-Government-Wettbewerb der Firmen Cisco Systems und BearingPoint gewonnen. Kölns Umweltdezernentin Dr. Ursula Christiansen nahm am Donnerstag, 10. März 2005, den Preis auf der Messe "Cebit" in Hannover aus der Hand von Staatssekretär Dr. Göttrik Wewer aus dem Bundesinnenministerium entgegen.

  • Norway: Foreign Ministry’s web portal wins UN prize

    Today the Foreign Ministry’s web portal, Norway – the official site (www.norway.info), won the World Summit Award Norge (www.wsan.no) for the best government web portal.

    “It is very gratifying that the Ministry’s communication with the public through the Internet has been noticed and appreciated,” said Foreign Minister Jan Petersen in response to the news that Norway – the official site, which won the Norwegian Design Council’s Award for Design Excellence last year, has now received the World Summit Award Norge in the e-Government category.

  • Norway: Mypage receives European award

    Norway's public service web portal Mypage has been awarded the European eGovernment Award 2007, the European award for outstanding e-administration solutions.

  • OM: Fifth edition of Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment launched

    The Information Technology Authority (ITA) organised a two-day capacity building workshop earlier this week at Hormuz Grand Hotel to unveil the details of the fifth edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment. The event was attended by Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, and a number of representatives from various government entities, private sector and SME companies, a press release said.

    At the event, Ruzaiqi said, “We are pleased to launch the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment to appreciate the efforts in the ICT sector for all government and private organisations including the SMEs.

  • OM: Three new categories in fifth edition of eGovernment awards

    The fifth edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment was announced on Monday.

    Organisers said there will be three new categories this year including the Best eTransformation achievement, Best service supporting doing business and the Best eParticipation for decision-making initiative.

    With the recent announcement for the 2012 edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment, the Information Technology Authority (ITA), as the organisation responsible for the management of the award programme, recently hosted an introductory workshop.

    Fatma al Riyami, Project Manager for the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment, gave the welcoming address.

    Following the opening remarks, Dr Bader Salim al Manthari, Executive — Information Security at ITA, and Giridhar Mechiri, an ITA Consultant, and members of the Award Evaluation Criteria Committee, gave a comprehensive presentation covering all aspects of the award.

  • OM: HM e-governance excellence awards to include SMEs

    Oman’s drive to ensure that most services come on the e-platform will see the fourth edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment have small and medium enterprises too vie for recognition.

    Building on the 2012 edition’s success, the Information Technology Authority has said that this year, besides government and private sectors, SMEs too can participate with their innovate projects and e-services.

    The number of awards this time would be in 12 categories – nine for the government sector, two for big companies in the private sector and one for SMEs, ITA chief executive officer Dr Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi said.

  • OM: ITA gives insight into HM Award for e-governance

    The Information Technology Authority (ITA) continues preparations for the registration stage of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment 2014, scheduled to begin in July and continue until the end of September.

    To explain details of the fourth edition of the award, the ITA held a workshop on Tuesday where more than 120 participants, representing more than 45 government and private companies and SMEs took part.

  • OM: Private sector to take part in HM e-Government Award

    The Information Technology Authority (ITA) announced that it has opened its doors for the private sector establishments to take part in the Sultan Qaboos Award for e-Government Services Award 2012 by adding two categories at the third version of the awards.

    The award aims at encouraging private and public sector establishments to develop their electronic services, simplify and enhance their procedures by implementing IT technology and encourage pioneering ideas in the digital fields.

    The Sultanate captured two awards at the public sector for the best technology project in the Arab world at 17th version of Sheikh Salim al- Ali IT Awards.

    The awards organising committee announced in Kuwait that ‘Advanced Manpower System’ of the Ministry of Manpower and “ Governmental Cloud’ of Information Technology Authority won two awards at the best technology project in the Arab world category.

  • OM: Symposium participants honoured for excellence in e-gov service

    The Ministry of Civil Service organised an honouring ceremony at Crowne Plaza Hotel yesterday to honour participants in Symposium on Mechanisms to Develop Governmental Performance and Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-Government 2012. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service, who said that the ceremony comes to reward the employees to achieve goals of the ministry.

    He added that the Human Resources System "Mawrid," which obtained the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-governmental service as the best 1358859507389632200 e-governmental project from governmental institution to governmental institution, is considered as one of the successful projects as it also obtained two awards from the United Nations (UN) and one gulf award.

  • Oman bags 7 GCC e-governance awards

    The Sultanate captured seven awards at the 3rd GCC e-Government Award, Conference and Exhibition which was organised at the InterContinental Dubai Hotel under the auspices of Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

    The One Stop Shop of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry won the Best Government-to-Government Shared Service, while the Information Technology Authority won first prize for ‘ITA e-Inclusion Project, the election system for the Shura Council and the municipal councils. The Ministry of Interior won the second place in the best e-services provided to individual and the Ministry of Manpower’s electronic registration project captured the second place in the best e-integrated service category.

  • Oman opens e-awards to its private sector

    A prestigious annual e-governance awards scheme, named after the country’s ruler, is being opened to the private sector for the first time this year, it was announced here on Saturday.

    The ‘Sultan Qaboos Awards for Excellence in e-governance’, organised by the Information Technology Authority (ITA), was until now restricted to government organisations.

    “This year’s award will include a new target segment, ‘Private Sector’, alongside the existing government sector — We anticipate an exciting year ahead, as the spirit of competition is openly embraced among all participating entities to provide innovative projects and eServices of high quality,” an ITA spokesperson said.

  • Oman receives key UN awards

    Oman has scooped four United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA) at the UN and Africa Public Service Forum held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

    Winning the honours for the sultanate were the Information Technology Authority (ITA), the Ministry of Civil Service, the Ministry of Education and the National Association for Cancer Awareness.

    The theme of the 2011 forum was “Transformative Leadership in Public Administration and Innovation in Governance: Creating a Better Life for All.”

    ITA was a first-place winner with its “Transforming the Society through the e.oman Communication Strategy’” in the category of “Advancing Knowledge Management in Government.”

  • Oman wins 7 awards for eGovernment initiatives

    Oman made a remarkable presence at the 3rd GCC eGovernment Award, Conference and Exhibition which concluded on December 11 in Dubai, winning 7 awards in 14 categories for various eGovernment initiatives, services and projects. The conference made several of recommendations necessary to foster the drive towards a comprehensive eGovernments and eventually smart governments. The 3rd GCC eGovernment Conference Commission has had several meetings on the sidelines of the conference, and concluded with a list of recommendations that emerged from the current GCC strategic approach towards the eGovernment and its implementation process. Also, the commission was keen on considering what has resulted from the recommendations of the two previous conferences in Muscat 2009 and Kuwait 2011. This is to ensure a specific build-on recommendations as well as a clear image of the present eGovernment requirements.

    The Sultanate of Oman have been awarded seven important awards at the 3rd GCC e-Government Award, Conference and Exhibition hosted by Shaikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum at the Inter-Continental Hotel, Dubai.

    The GCC e-awards, which features nine categories, subjects applicants for the awards to rigorous reviews by a jury committee, comprised of a number of e-government experts and specialists.

  • Österreich: E-Recht Projekt gewinnt den "Public Service Award 2007"

    Transparenz und Bürgernähe im öffentlichen Sektor

    Der "Public Service Award 2007" der UNO geht in diesem Jahr an das Bundeskanzleramt und T-Systems in Österreich. Das von beiden gemeinsam realisierte Projekt "E-Recht" erhielt die europäische Auszeichnung für "mehr Transparenz und Bürgernähe im öffentlichen Bereich".

    Die UNO zeichnet in Europa seit 1999 öffentliche Einrichtungen mit dem "Public Services Award" für herausragende Leistungen aus. In der Kategorie "Improving transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in the Public Service" wurde das Bundeskanzleramt für das Projekt "E-Recht" geehrt. In Zusammenarbeit mit T-Systems und anderen Partnern entwickelte das Bundeskanzleramt basierend auf den Layoutrichtlinien einen einheitlichen Standard für die Gesetzeserstellung.
