  • IN: Odisha: Bhubaneswar Smart City wins two SKOCH Awards for e-governance

    The Bhubaneswar Smart City has done it again. It has bagged the prestigious SKOCH Awards in two categories, for which announcement was made in November 2021.

    While the Bhubaneswar Smart City has won the award under Urban Governance Category for unified city portal Bhubaneswar.Me, it has won the Ease of Doing Business award for the Building Plan Approval System (BPAS) for it’s citizen-driven service and utility.

  • IN: Odisha: Bhubaneswar wins Smart City Award for ‘Mu Saviour’ app

    The Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) won the prestigious Smart City Empowering India Awards -2020, in New Delhi Friday.

    Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave way the award to BSCL in a glittering function for the innovative ‘Mu Saviour’ application to manage urban flooding across the city.

  • IN: Orissa bags award for best govt portal

    The portal helps streamline lengthy in-house processes and freed up administrative staff and budget control officers’ time by automating processing of allotment distribution

    The Government of Orissa has won the Gold Icon Award under the Best Government Portal category at the National Awards for e-Governance 2011-2012, organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).

  • IN: Petroleum Ministry conferred National E-governance Award

    The Petroleum Ministry has been awarded the National E-governance Award by Computer Society of India for implementing project 'Lakshya' which is aimed at improving LPG distribution.

    "The prestigious CSI Nihilent national e-Governance Award 2012-13 was awarded to the Project Lakshya - Empowering Consumers: Transparent Supply Chain and Efficient Subsidy Administration at Vishakhapatnam as part of 48th Annual Convention of Computer Society of India (CSI-2013)," a ministry press release said.

    The award was received by Neeraj Mittal, Joint Secretary, Marketing, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, at the ceremony along with a team of officers from oil marketing companies.

  • IN: Tamil Nadu: e-Governance awards

    The district administration has invited applications from polytechnic and college students for the Chief Minister’s Excellence in e-governance awards for the year 2015-16.

    According to a release, the scheme meant for students of government, government-aided and private colleges will have three awards – development of application for innovative use of mobile technology, software for health/school education and other social and development of application for differently-abled persons.

  • IN: Telangana GENCO awarded for excellent e-governance

    TS GENCO, in line with its business strategy and expansion plans, replaced the existing in-house software application by implementing centralized ERP solutions across all its plants.

    TS GENCO was conferred with the CSI SIG e-Governance Award of Excellence at the 53rd Annual Convention of the Computer Society of India (CSI) held on January 17 at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology at Bhubaneswar.

  • IN: Telangana: CGG Hyderabad wins award for ‘Outstanding Digital Initiative’

    The award was presented by the Union Law Minister Dr. Ravi Shankar Prasad in New Delhi recently. CGG competed with 600 participating nominations and bagged this title.

    Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Hyderabad won the “Platinum” Digital India Award 2018 under “Outstanding Digital Initiative by a Local Body” category at Digital India Awards for its “Citizen Centric Integrated Services to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)”. The award was presented by the Union Law Minister Dr. Ravi Shankar Prasad in New Delhi recently. CGG competed with 600 participating nominations and bagged this title.

  • IN: Telangana: Govt. project gets gold at Skoch Summit

    A Blockchain-based property registration project of Telangana government has bagged the gold award at the 66th Skoch Summit.

    The solution was successfully piloted in partnership with CDAC Hyderabad to ensure tamper-proof land records, a release from Industries and IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao said. The release said T-Chits, a blockchain-based system to govern chit fund operations, was awarded the silver award. Telangana had won the gold medal in Emerging Technologies category for T-Chits at the 23rd National Awards for e-Governance in 2020, organised by DARP and MeitY.

  • IN: Telangana: Hyderabad bags three Smart City awards

    Hyderabad has bagged three Smart Cities India (SCI) awards by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).

    The city has received the awards under three categories -- green and clean city, smart waste disposal and startup -- at the 28th Convergence India 2021 International Exhibition and 6th Smart cities India Expo that concluded in New Delhi on Friday.

  • IN: Union Territory of Chandigarh bags 'Digital India Week' award

    The Union Territory of Chandigarh has been conferred with the award for outstanding performance during the 'Digital India Week'. The award was presented by union minister for communications and information technology Ravi Shankar Prasad at a function organized by the ministry of communications and information technology (IT) in New Delhi on Monday.

    The department of electronics and information technology through this award has recognized the e-governance initiatives of Chandigarh under taken during the Digital India Week held from July 1 to 7 under the leadership of IT secretary S B Deepak Kumar and IT director Prince Dhawan. During the week, the department of IT and SPIC undertook various Chandigarh specific key e-governance initiatives. The week long campaign involved launch of e-stamping in Chandigarh in all sampark centres which replaced the system of physical stamp papers and launch of digital locker at a large scale for citizens with enrollment drive to "DigiLocker" across all e-Sampark centre. The department of IT also conducted an exclusive campaign on information security and education awareness. In order to augment connectivity in rural areas, a project was launched under which all 12 gram panchayats were connected with optical fiber.

  • India Smart Cities Award Contest 2020: Indore in top 4, beats 96 cities

    In a contest organised by the ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under the Smart cities Mission, Indore has managed to remain in the top four slot and goes into the final stage of selection process for the India Smart Cities Award Contest 2020. One hundred cities took part in the contest.

    Indore Smart City’s nine projects have been selected for as many as seven categories of the awards out of 12 categories. The Smart City had participated for all the 12 categories and had sent in 20 projects for the nomination out of which nine were selected. The Smart City Official said for the 2019 awards, Indore Smart City had won the award for River Front Development category beating other cities. Officials said that the categories in which Smart City do not get selected are Governance, Social Aspects, Urban Environment, Urban Mobility and Water.

  • India Smart Cities Awards 2020: UP best smart state, Surat, Indore best cities

    The northern state won for shortlisting seven more cities to transform into smart cities.

    Uttar Pradesh is the top performer among all Indian states in rankings given by the Centre’s Smart Cities Mission project, followed by Madhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, the Union government said on Friday, releasing the results of the India Smart Cities Awards Contest (ISAC) 2020.

    Mobile Seva gets prestigious UN Award

    The mobile seva initiative of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) has won the 2014 United Nations Public Service Award. The award has been given in category of promoting whole of government approaches in Information Age.

    The United Nations Public Service Awards is the most prestigious international recognition of excellence in public service. It rewards the creative achievements and contributions of public service institutions that lead to a more effective and responsive public administration in countries worldwide. Through an annual competition, the UN Public Service Awards promotes the role, professionalism and visibility of public service.

  • India: Award for TAPMI's e-Gov programme

    eGPX - a unique one year Post Graduate e-Governance Programme for Executives [eGPX] designed for Middle and Senior level Executives from Government, Public and Private sectors at the Manipal based T. A. Pai Management Institute [TAPMI] has been shortlisted from over 500 nominations for the eINDIA 2010 "Skill Development Initiative of the Year" award. The award is given to innovative endeavors by eIndia 2010, the country's largest ICT event taking place in Hyderabad from August 4, 2010 to August 6, 2010. The Awards have been instituted with the primary aim of felicitating and acknowledging unique and innovative initiatives in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for Development.

    TAPMI is the only B-School to start the one of its kind course in India. The programme is being offered by TAPMI in collaboration with National Institute for Smart Government [NISG], Hyderabad with support from the Department of Information Technology Ministry of Communications & IT, and Government of India. TAPMI is the first management institute in the country to be selected to conduct a post graduate e-governance programme for executives in collaboration with NISG.

  • India: Bihar RTI-on-phone project earns it top e-governance prize

    Bihar's unique attempt to accept Right to Information (RTI) applications through phone calls — Jaankari — has been selected by the Centre for the first prize (gold) for "outstanding performance in citizen centric service delivery" under its e-Governance project for the year 2008-09.

    Incidentally, 11 of the total 18 National Awards for e-Governance under different categories this year have gone to NDA-ruled states with Gujarat taking the lead with five prizes, including one gold, one silver and three bronze.

  • India: Bihar wins National Award for e-governance

    'Jankari', a Bihar government project to empower people with information under RTI over telephone, has bagged the National award for e-governance.

    "The award will be given to the state government's unique project, Jankari Call Centre under Right to Information Act (RTI), on February 12 this year at the national conference on e-governance in Goa," Amir Subhani, Principal Secretary, Personnel, told reporters here.

    Bihar and Himachal Pradesh have won the National Awards for E-Governance 2008-09. The economically backward state of Bihar bagged the award for ‘Jankari’, a government-run project to empower people with information under the Right to Information Act (RTI). The information can be accessed over telephone. The hilly state of Himachal Pradesh won the award for its electronic gazette (e-gazette) project and the Himachal Police Web Portal (HIMPOL). HIMPOL also bagged an award under the ‘outstanding performance in citizen-centric service delivery’ category.

  • India: Bihar's `Jankari' model found simplest and best

    Bihar has made its presence felt in e-governance. It has been given the "Gold award" for the "Jankari" call centre under which people can seek info under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

    The award has been given by the department of administrative reforms, Union ministry of personnel. "The jury acknowledged the outstanding performance of this citizen-centric service delivery. It found the presentation of Bihar to be the simplest and the best," said principal secretary, state personnel and administrative reforms department, Amir Subhani.

  • India: Bihar’s tele-calling ‘Jaankari’ gets awarded for e-governance project

    Centre has bestowed Bihar with a gold medal for its stellar performance in e-Governance in execution of Right to Information (RTI) Act in the state.

    Recognizing the state’s unique initiative ‘Jaankari’, a call centre that provides an easy access complaint cells was opened under the state under the Right to Information (RTI), the centre has committed Bihar with the first spot for the award that will be presented at the national e-governance conference at Goa on February 12.

  • India: Capital’s e-gov projects bag national awards

    Three of the Delhi Government’s e-Governance projects have won this year’s national awards among all the states and government departments. Two of the Delhi projects (run by Education Department and DSIIDC) have won Golden Icon, while another (run by Education Department) has won Silver Icon award given by the Central Government for e-Governance.

    The projects which have won Golden Icon are Education Department’s Online Student Management System, in the Excellence in Government Process Re-Engineering category, and DSIIDC’s File Monitoring System and Bar Coding Solution in the Exemplary Usage of ICT by PSUs. The Silver Icon for outstanding performance in Citizen-Centric Service Delivery category was won by Education Department’s Computer Aided Learning (CAL).
