  • AE: Dubai Chamber highlights its e-services at the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices

    Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry highlighted its effective and efficient services and initiatives during its participation in the Dubai Forum for Government's Best Practices today.

    Dubai Chamber had a stand at the event, organised as part of the Dubai Government Excellence Program, which showcased its range of e-services, including membership registration and renewal, issuance of Certificates of Origin, authentication of documents and e-payment and integrated services provided in partnership with other organisations.

    Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices is an annual event which aims to exchange experience and knowledge between the various Dubai Government agencies, as well as impact the latest trends and practices in government excellence.

  • AE: Dubai Chamber launches electronic attestation service

    As part of commitment to the vision of Smart Dubai, and to facilitate business operations for customers through smart transformation, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the launch of the electronic attestation service and the authentication of signatures on documents, which raises the percentage of smart transformation of core services to 98 per cent.

    The Chamber drew attention to the activation of this smart service from March 19, 2020, whereby members of the Chamber can submit all transactions requiring authentication electronically through the Dubai Chamber website. The completion of the online attestation process from submission to approval does not exceed four hours.

  • AE: Dubai Chamber launches online membership services

    In order to provide a quick and convenient service for the business community, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED), has launched an online membership renewal service on its website.

    Under this cooperation, Dubai Chamber members will have easy access to services offered by both Dubai Chamber and the DED on both organisations' websites.

  • AE: Dubai civic body forms committee to fast-track transition to m-services

    The Dubai Municipality (DM) has formed a committee to rapidly transform all its potential e-services to m-services.

    This was announced by DM Director-General Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, who said the move was in execution of the initiative declared by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai

    “Being one of the largest government organisations that renders almost 90 per cent of its services online, the municipality has an effective plan to integrate the entire services under one single app — like i-Dubai — to make it the smartest app available in the country,” said Marwan Ibrahim Nassir, the committee organiser, and head of the director-general’s Follow-Up Office at DM.

    The UAE PASS initiative aims to eventually allow citizens to access all UAE government services via smartphone with a single set of login details.

    Smart Dubai has integrated seven government entities into the UAEPASS platform, completing phase one of the programme.

    The UAE PASS initiative, which will eventually cover the whole United Arab Emirates (UAE), aims to allow residents and visitors to seamlessly access government services via smartphones, without the need to visit service centres, and with a single set of login details.

  • AE: Dubai Courts expand eNotary services

    17 more e-services added to portfolio, government looking at video conferencing for trials

    Dubai Courts have added a further 17 eNotary services to the e-services portal, bringing the total number of services available to 31 and allowing more users to access a wider range of services at the Dubai Courts.

    These services include PDF-based interactive forms that allow users to apply for services within the Dubai Courts, online appointment booking and an eGovernment Payment Gateway to allow users to pay fines and fees.

    Abdulrahim Almudhareb, ITD director for Dubai Courts told ITP.net that there are future plans to expand the e-notary services even further.

    11 government entities and 40,000 users registered in MyID

    Dubai Smart Government Department (DSG) has announced that Dubai Courts has joined the MyID service for ensuring a single sign-on with Dubai government services through smart phones or the Internet. MyID works in collaboration with the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA), and with Dubai Courts signing up, now has 11 entities participating in the service.

    Dubai Courts took a giant step yesterday and became one of the few justice departments worldwide to offer full-fledged e-services to its clients after launching 14 new notary public e-services.

    The General Director of Dubai Courts (DC), Dr Ahmad Bin Hazeem, described the launching of 14 notary public e-services ‘as a historic phase in Dubai Courts' mission to convert all its transactions and services into electronic'.

    Dubai Customs has earned the 2015 GCC eGovernment Award in the category ‘Best Government Service for Business Sector’. The award was claimed by DC’s latest B2G (Business to Government) integrated channel – an in-house developed electronic service created to reinforce customs facilitations for business.

    Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, was presented with the award by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the opening of the 4th GCC eGovernment Conference & Exhibition, which recently took place in Manama under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in presence of VIPs and senior officials from across the GCC.

  • AE: Dubai Customs launches 1st phase of integration project with RTA

    Dubai Customs in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently launched Phase 1 of DC-RTA Integration project.

    The project has achieved goal of Government partnership by sharing Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC) details to the Roads '&' Transport Authority (RTA). The project team has worked closely with the Government Partnership department '&' RTA to implement the system according to requirements and in alignment with Dubai Customs' strategy.

    Ahmed Mahboub Musabih, Executive Director of the Clients Management Division, who sponsored the project, said that the first phase of the integration project between the two government departments will include sending details and data of imported vehicles through Dubai Customs to RTA.

    Strategic Initiative for a Smart City

    The blockchain solution was introduced as part of a broader strategy to cement Dubai’s position as a leading “smart” city, according to a statement by the Dubai Media Office on July 8. Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, highlighted the innovation as a reflection of Dubai’s vision to become a global hub for trade and logistics.

    Dubai Customs has recently launched a bouquet of mobile phone electronic services directed to companies and firms that use "Mirsal 2" in its different customs transactions, and to all clients and staff.

    The new service was launched during a celebration that was held at Dubai Customs' main building on Wednesday 26 January 2011with the presence of Mr. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Executive Director of the Customers Management division, and Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of the Customs Development Division as well as a number of department's senior executives and representatives of major companies and firms that have partnership with Dubai Customs.

    HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai attended yesterday 9 October 2011 the launch of a number of mobile e-services by Dubai Customs at Gitex 2011.

    That took place during a tour HH made to stands taking part at the international exhibition. HH listened to a detailed explanation on the new services presented by Ahmed Mahboub Musabih, Executive Director of the Clients Management Division. These services target companies and firms that use Mirsal 2 for their different customs transactions.

  • AE: Dubai Digital's first meeting discusses plans for Dubai's digital transformation

    Dubai Digital Authority (DDA) has held the first meeting with the four affiliated entities under its umbrella to discuss the unified vision for Dubai’s comprehensive digital transformation.

    Hosted at the Dubai Statistics Centre, the meeting, chaired by Hamad Al Mansoori, Director-General of DDA, was attended by Yousuf Hamad Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Dubai Electronic Security Centre; Arif Obaid Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Dubai Statistics Centre; Younus Al Nasser, CEO of Dubai Data Establishment, and Wesam Lootah, CEO of Smart Dubai Government Establishment.

    New name is in consistence with the initiative launched by Shaikh Mohammad

    His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered amending the name of Dubai e-Government to Dubai Smart-Government starting from Thursday, June 30, 2013.

    The new name is in consistence with the initiative that was launched by Shaikh Mohammad in May to turn the e-Government into a smart-Government.
