    Dubai eGovernment (DeG) applied to Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) for the dotDubai top level geographic domain by demonstrating its operational, technical and financial capabilities and intends to provide further registration of dotDubai domain names to all Dubai government entities and businesses, non-profit organizations, NGO's and associations registered in Dubai or at any of the Dubai Free Zones.

    Dubai's application is a part of DeG's ongoing endeavor to promote Dubai through the creation of an online brand identity to reinforce Dubai's position as a leading global hub for business, knowledge-based economy and socio-culture.

    H.E. Ahmed Bin Humaidan, Director General of Dubai eGovernment (DeG) Department welcomed the recent visit of Director-General, H.E Hilal Saeed Al Marri of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) with both promising to work closely to enhance government connectivity for the tourist sector in Dubai.

    During the meeting, the two sides discussed the means of further developing their relations and supporting DTCM's efforts towards eTransformation. They also discussed the role that DeG could play to develop its eServices provided to the government entities with the aim of serving the tourist sector in general and contributing to easing the needs and transaction of visitors to Dubai.

    Dubai eGovernment Department has recently welcomed a delegation from Ajman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, which is looking to learn more about its successful experience of applying Dubai Government's Unified Electronic Suggestion System "eSuggest" that was officially launched last May. Dubai eGovernment (DeG), in cooperation with the General Secretariat of Dubai Executive Council, developed and implemented this integrated administrative system with the aim of dealing with suggestions from customers and employees through mechanisms for receiving, studying and handling suggestions for use in upgrading government performance.

    Dubai eGovernment lauded for contributing to the establishment of a knowledge-based economy

    Dubai eGovernment Department has recently hosted a delegation from the Department of Information & eGovernment in Sharjah at its headquarters at the Dubai Ruler's Court. Led by Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Director-General of the Sharjah Department of Information & eGovernment, and accompanied by different managers and senior officials, the visiting delegation was briefed on Dubai eGovernment's eTransformation experience and its strategies to automate various government transactions with the public and business community, which has helped strengthen Dubai's position as a leading regional and international economic hub.

    Partnership covers GRP systems and ePayment services

    A strategic cooperation and partnership agreement was recently signed at the Department of Finance headquarters at H.H. Dubai Ruler's Court, between the Department of Finance (DoF) and Dubai eGovernment to manage and govern the Government Resources Planning (GRP) systems and other financial and accounting systems being used or to be implemented or developed across government bodies in Dubai. The agreement covers all technical, practical and contractual procedures, policies and accounting structures. Both parties have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of ePay service.

    Department of Municipalities and Transport has introduced 13 new services to its SmartHub digital platform, as part of its ongoing efforts to boost Abu Dhabi’s position in the global smart cities’ rankings.

    The 13 services fall under the vision of the Emirate’s wise leadership and Abu Dhabi government’s strategy to upgrade work systems to provide citizens and residents with advanced and easily accessible channels.

    The Executive Office of the MoI's Smart Government Program implemented several development projects, related to the Ministry's website. These projects are designed to provide the technical features and standards of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, in order to ensure optimal access to the ministry's website, better usability and compatibility with different web browsers, smart phones and portable devices, ultimately becoming an interactive website.

    Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched a new campaign, in partnership with Emirates NBD, as part of its strategy to promote e-Services to increase efficiency, provide best possible services to its customers, and encourage the use of latest technologies.

    The campaign aims to encourage customers who debit cards to pay DEWA bills online, through DEWA's mobile phone (mPay) service or the ePay facility on DEWA's website (dewa.gov.ae), which also includes the Auto-Payment feature. The facility is provided in collaboration with Dubai e-Government.

    Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced it has transformed all of its services into smart services in less than a year after the launch of the Smart Dubai initiative.

    HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA said the achievement is in line with the Smart Government phase, the post e-Government initiative launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which will contribute to making a significant improvement in customer services and transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world with all the services and utilities run by integrated and connected smart systems. The achievement supports sustainable development in Dubai, complements the National Agenda launched by His Highness and raises the profile of Dubai as a global hub for trade, finance, tourism, green economy and sustainability.

    Utility to launch new services portal for entire service timeline

    Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is showing its commitment to eGovernment at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK, with the launch of a host of new e-services for customers.DEWA, which is one of the biggest participants from the Dubai government, is showing a range of new apps and services, which are launched under the theme ‘Serving you more with eConvenience.’

    The utility will launch its new DEWA website, and will also highlight Geographical information systems, online services including bill payment, activation of supply, final bill request, and registration.

  • AE: DEWA encourages customers to activate automatic bill payment feature

    Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has strengthened its eServices package by adding the AutoPay feature which enables automatic bill payment through the Dubai eGovernment payment gateway.

    The new feature encourages customers to use and adopt DEWA's eServices, which will save time and effort as transactions can be accomplished electronically without visiting DEWA's customer service centres.

    For the third time in a row

    Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has made a new success by obtaining the highest ISO certification (ISO 27001:2005) in Information Security. This certification is ranked as the highest standard of quality Information Security and Protection all over the world. For the third time in a row, DEWA's Information Technology Division has passed processes of assessment, auditing and monitoring conducted by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Limited (LRQA).

    The selection mechanism adopted by Lloyd's Register's delegated committee, offering ISO (27001:2500) depended on accurate criteria, which included reviewing employees' acquired skills, training courses and workshops provided to them, as well as a detailed review of the policies and mechanisms of applied procedures so as to know how far requirements of the standard levels of Information Security are implemented.

The move is aimed at enabling government entities in the emirate to electronically get the data of the registered account holders from DEWA's database easily and smoothly.

    Electronic linkage of DEWA's systems with the GSB platform, which is electronically linked with Dubai government entities, allows the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) affiliated to Dubai Land Department to electronically get the required customer's data related to the electricity and water account holder from DEWA's database in a fast, secure and effective manner, thereby becoming the first beneficiary of the linkage.

    Dubai Electricity and Water Authority ( DEWA ) has launched a unified eComplain portal (www.eComplain.ae) that serves as a one-stop online channel for customers to submit their complaints and queries effortlessly and conveniently, as part of its 'Hadhreen - At Your Service' initiative.

    Under Hadhreen, customers have the convenient option of being able to select e-Services, mobile services, GreenBill, pay bills through 17 different channels, or address any complaints and suggestions.

    In line with Dubai Government's vision to increase eServices, enhance customer satisfaction, innovation and positive involvements, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), in coordination with The Executive Council and Dubai eGovernment, has announced the official launch of The Unified eSuggest System.

    Built to maximize the benefits of effective communication, The Unified eSuggest System will provide an efficient platform for Dewa's Customer Relations Department to deal with customer suggestions to the Authority.

    Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) launched the first Governmental application for BlackBerry PlayBook subsequent to its applications available for the iPhone, iPad, Android, and Windows 7. This comes within the framework of promoting, streamlining and simplifying DEWA's e-services delivered to customers.

    While doing this, DEWA has paid great attention to time, speed and accuracy, especially at the launch phase leading to the fact that customers can now perform many tasks without resort to logging on to DEWA's website.

  • AE: DEWA launches the service of direct debit payment with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank

    Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has activated the direct debit payment for customers of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. This service enables DEWA customers to pay their bills directly from their accounts through this bank's e-channels. Due payments are directly transferred to DEWA customers' accounts, which are consequently updated.

    "This new accomplishment comes in line with DEWA's strategy to promote e-services. This will reduce the number of customers queuing in government departments, implement world-class levels of efficiency within the field of customer service, as well as delivering top-quality services in this area. This step is part of DEWA's plans to provide customers with every opportunity to use its various e-services and falls in line with its relentless efforts to deliver top-quality e-services to customers to save time and effort," said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

  • AE: DEWA leads Dubai e-Government Quality Services

    Demonstrating its successful and excellent e-Service offerings as a world-class sustainable utility, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has recently won first place in the annual Dubai e-Government Quality Services Assessment for the sixth consecutive year. This achievement was announced based on the e-Services 2011/2012 assessment report by the Dubai e-Government.

    DEWA won the category of government bodies offering 'less than 50' e-Services. The report included assessments of DEWA's e-Services, which reflected positively on the solid and stable performance of DEWA's systems, e-Service connections, requirements and time of response.
