The Government has given the go-ahead for the information technology project of an infrastructure to bring all public administrations into the digital era so that they can dialogue with the modern world with the same modalities, functions, quality and security of citizens and companies. It is a sort of technological highway. Upon the proposal of Lucio Stanca, minister for Innovation and Technology, and the Ministers for Public Function and Economy, the Cabinet has approved the plans for the Public Connectivity System - SPC – and the International PA Network according to homogenous standards.

After e-government it's time for e-democracy: a new channel for citizens to use as part of democratic participation. Innovation and Technology Minister Lucio Stanca was optimistic about allowing technology to mediate between citizens and governmental bodies. Stanca spoke at a CNIPA and Formez meeting in Rome.

Auf der so genannten CIE (Carta d'Identia Elettronica) sind mehrere Funktionen integriert, für die bisher verschiedene Karten notwendig waren. So kann die CIE als Ausweis zur amtlichen Identifikation, als Krankenversicherungskarte oder als Zugangsberechtigung für öffentliche Einrichtungen verwendet werden.
A new t-government service will offer multimedia services via land digital on home television to provide on-line civil service information and services. Innovations and Technology Minister Lucio Stanca, in the context of the "land digital" project already approved by the Committee of Information Society Ministers, has announced the setting aside of seven million euro for co-funding of e-government information applications, based on "land digital" and destined for the public. The Minister has also provided for the setting up of a centre responsible for land digital to assist local administrations in setting up the new technology.
