Italy has consolidated its role as a leader in the diffusion of e-government in developing countries. Lucio Stanca, the Minister for Innovation and Technologies signed an agreement with Enrique Iglesias, the president of The Inter-American Bank for Development, to create a credit line of 3 mln dollars for the diffusion of e-government in seven Caribbean and Latin American countries.

Technologieminister Stanca fordert 2,5 Mrd. Euro für "Revolution" in der italienischen Verwaltung

Italien will seine äußerst komplizierte und oft als "kafkaesk" bezeichnete Verwaltung von Staat, Regionen und Gemeinden drastisch vereinfachen. Wo andere Regierungen seit Jahrzehnten immer wieder kläglich scheiterten, da will die aktuelle Regierung unter Ministerpräsident Silvio Berlusconi mit dem Einsatz moderner Medientechnologien endlich reüssieren: "e-government", die (Eigen-)Verwaltung über das Internet, werde das Ende der Bürokratie als "Quälerei und Schikane" bedeuten, versicherte der für Innovationen und Technologie zuständige Minsiter Lucio Stanca am Mittwoch in einem Gespräch mit der Turiner Tageszeitung "La Stampa". Eine "Revolution" stehe unmittelbar bevor.
